Business Owners--Are You Doing these 3 Things to Stand Out?

Network marketers, Internet marketers, MLM marketers, Direct Sale marketers - How do you stand out?

If you have been in business any amount of time or if you have a good mentor you know that offering free products and giving out good information is what will build your list and make you stand out within your niche.

So why do so many websites and blogs greet their visitors with what seems like the same offers? Why doesn't the information differ enough? Do you ever feel like people and products start to blend together in your minds eye? Do you struggle with feeling like you don't stand out enough? No matter what business you are in finding a way to set yourself a part from the crowd is crucial to success.

How do I know? Because I have been where you are! I needed to decide who I was, what my passion was, and how to uniquely portray that online.

Who are you? So many times in business and online we try to be like the successful people in our niche. This isn't a bad place to start. The people who mentor us, who are reaching their goals are to be learned from. We need to glean information. Did you catch that? Glean not copy. The best way to stand out in your business is to be yourself. Stay true to you.

What are you Passionate about? This is my favorite question to ask people. Why? Because when you discover your passion and you work toward that you won't grow weary or become uninspired. When we work on something we are passionate about we gain more energy. We are excited about what we do and even if failure is experienced, which it must be to grow, new ideas take the olds place. So what are you passionate about? What have you learned that has changed your life, that you know will change others too? Make a product about that.

How does my Website reflect me and my passion? There are a lot of "experts" out there that will tell you a million different pieces of advice about your website/blog. Many of them may pull you in different directions. Here is the deal- when you are starting out do what you can do and don't worry about everyone else. Keep your site clean and full of information that reflects who you are and what your passion is.

So, please be yourself. Don't try to be a guru or your mentor. Figure out who you are, what your passion is and begin putting out quality information that reflects that online. Yes, you may fail. Don't let that stop you just get right back up and try again!

  1. Hi Stephanie,

Thanks for sharing that especially for some one who has started blogging just 2 weeks ago. I truly believe it's about being authentic. Yes, your mentor offers you valuable advice but you need to adapt it to what best suits you :)

I like your advice of just doing what you can. For me starting a blog then adding all the plugins that I want had to be done step by step. I still need to tweak my blog quite a bit but take it one day at time.

  3. Stephanie, I am big on #2, What are you passionate about? I often tell people before determining their blog niche or their business that is should be something they are authentically passionate about. If you are passionate about your endeavor, it will resonate with others. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Great post, Stephanie! You are so right about free offers. I'm working on retooling mine, but I've noticed that it seems like there are only about four offers that 90% of the people in the blogosphere offer. This is why I've decided to look for a lot of different books to figure out which ones to give away to make myself stand out.

  5. Love this post my friend! You are so right! You have to be able to stand on your own two feet and brand who you are... not who someone else is.
