I have been a Christian stay at home mom since my oldest daughter was born. So that means for 3 and a half years we have been fighting to survive financially. I have done all kinds of odd jobs here and there trying to bring in extra cash as we live month to month. But, as any stay at home mom would agree, when I look at my two precious girls while we snuggle to read books, or are eating lunch it is all worth it.

But, the reality of the situation is that my husband isn't going to make more money any time soon and the average cost of living in the United States is $95 a day. The culture we live in doesn't allow for one income families to not be floundering, barely keeping there head above water.

So how do we, as Christian stay at home moms, support our family emotionally and financially? Here are some ways.

Get Educated. There are opportunities for moms to learn marketable skills from home on the internet. Get creative! You don't have to go back to school to learn new things and to use those new things to make extra cash, or start your own online business. One of the great things about moms starting businesses online is that we can join forces and help each other survive financially from home.

Get Connected. There are many moms today succeeding in business from home, online. If you want to be a work at home mom that no longer means joining an MLM and hosting parties. Start reading Christian work at home mom forums, blogs, and tweets. Join groups of momprenuers on Facebook and follow moms who are successful online on twitter. Getting connected will give you valuable information as you begin to survive financially from home.

Get Trained. Once you have researched your options and connected with others it is time for you to get the training you need to be successful in whatever area you have chosen. Join an interactive marketing company. Sign up for newsletters, and glean information on your topic. What you need to learn will be different depending on what business you have chosen to run. If you decide to be a blog designer you will need to know what people are looking for, what the competitors prices are and how to attract customers.Where as your training will look different if you decide to write and sell an e-book.
