Narrowing Your Niche is Counter-Intuitive.

Whether you are a blogger, business owner, marketer, or entrepreneur I know you have heard about how important it is to narrow your  niche.

What is narrowing your niche, why is it so important, and how do you go about doing it anyways?

When I first came online these are some of the questions that I asked. It can be hard to narrow who you are into one tiny little group of people or topic.

I have begun to look at narrowing your niche in a different light. We are all people with many different sides, so we can have different niches of people that we are talking to. The key is to know what niche you are talking to at what time, and to not clump them all together.

When we begin to talk to a specific niche about a product or business idea it can feel very counter-intuitive because as we direct our language at this certain audience we begin to alienate 80% of the people we may be talking to.

But here is the question-- would you rather be branded as someone who is scattered and doing too many things at once, or someone who is focused and pointed in their marketing?

We can probably all agree that we would like people to see us as focused, not all over the place.

So even as counter-intuitive as narrowing your niche may feel, get out there and start to listen and speak to a certain group of individuals that can benefit from your product, and who you have a heart to help succeed.

Remember, if it is business, it is personal.
