I was on Facebook today and there was an article posted that described the reasons why people would "unlike" your Facebook Fan Page. It really got me to thinking about how business has become personal and if we aren't marketing person to person instead of business to business, people will begin to tune us out.
Well, I am a person and I want to share some ways I know of that can help you start to connect personally to people in your niche market.
Way # 1: Share your experiences and heart by getting your information out there. By choosing to share little tips that you have learned on important subjects, you will begin to attract people to you. There are many others like you who are hungry to know how to be successful in business and online. Create a presence and rapport with them by helping them. I know of an opportunity right now for women to be featured and promoted on Facebook, Twitter and in the blogosphere by sharing what they have learned about converting leads into sales. Look into the opportunity, and remember when you help someone else it is the beginning to helping yourself!
Way #2: Actively promote yourself using social media. Because business has become so personal, attracting people to you is as simple as being present where the people are. Look for business blogs, communities, forums, FB groups and fan pages that are in and about your niche and participate! Comment, be real, share your story, answer questions, ask questions and remember the more authentic and real you are the more attractive you become. Right now there is an opportunity for women who own their own business to win free advertising an a blog that has a very targeted niche. Winning free advertising for your business for a month has great potential to make you and your brand more recognizable and personal to your target audience.
You know, the thinking used to be- "It's not personal, it's business". It isn't that way anymore. Business has become personal, and I don't think thats a bad thing.

Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Network marketing is personal. I also believe you should share some personal stories and tips that you may have learned in your daily routines. The best way to share personal experiences is through Stories.

Excellent post, Stephanie! We really have to remember how important it is to be personal and connect when using social media-- it shouldn't be distant cold and stuffy-- keep it real and friendly!! :-) ~Emily Stoik
